The purpose of this post is to inform you how and why we dry needle the way we do at Endeavor Physical Therapy. Elizabeth Lauten, DPT, is certified in dry needling through The American Academy of Manipulative Therapy and her technique is informed by this training.
What is dry needling and when do we use it?
Dry needling involved inserting acupuncture needles to treat pain, improve tissue healing, and improve tissue mobility.
Is dry needling safe?
When preformed appropriately, on the right person, and with the proper technique, dry needling is very safe. Elizabeth Lauten, DPT is trained to screen for precautions and contraindication in order to safely perform dry needling.
What conditions does dry needling help?
Chronic pain, acute injury, tendonitis, nerve injury, osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, and much more! Many pelvic conditions! Elizabeth has special training to treat pelvic conditions.
What areas is Elizabeth trained in?
She is trained in lower extremity, upper extremity, spine, and pelvic floor dry needling. Her training includes mechanical manipulation of the needles and use of electrical stimulation to enhance the effect of the dry needling treatment.
Is there an extra fee for dry needling?
No. If you are a good candidate for dry needling, it is considered to be part of your treatment with no extra fee.
